Privacy policy

Who we are

This website (yanchepnationalpark.com.au) is an independent unofficial visitor guide. We do not publish a public contact email or contact form. See our contact page for official park channels and site expectations.

What we collect

This site does not run a third-party contact form, email-gated lead form, or public mailbox. We do not intentionally collect personal contact details through this website.

The free day-trip checklist and practical planner (HTML, print-friendly) are direct downloads — no email is required to access them.

Server & analytics

Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) may be collected by the hosting provider for security and operations. We do not currently run a first-party analytics product that builds a named visitor profile. If that changes, this page will say so.

On-site search is client-side only (it filters a static page list in your browser). The query may appear in the page URL (?q=) if you share that link. We do not store search queries in a first-party account.

Cookies & local storage

This site may store a theme preference in your browser (yanchep-theme: light or dark). That is first-party local storage, not an advertising cookie. You can clear it with your browser’s site data controls.

If Google AdSense is serving ads, Google may set cookies and collect usage data per Google’s policies. Outbound Amazon, Booking.com and GetYourGuide links may also set cookies on those partners’ domains after you click through. See those providers’ privacy tools. An ads.txt file is published at the site root.

Advertising & affiliates

Google AdSense may display ads and set cookies / collect usage data per Google’s policies. An ads.txt file is published at the site root. Affiliate partners may also set cookies when you follow outbound links:

  • Amazon Associates (Australia) — tracking active on Gear hub searches only
  • GetYourGuide (campaign yanchepnationalpark) — tracking active on tour product and search links
  • Booking.com (Yanchep, Two Rocks, Joondalup, Wanneroo, Perth) — tracking active on stay searches

Which links are commission-tracked is listed on our affiliate disclosure. Official Explore Parks WA / DBCA fees, Crystal Cave tickets and Park Stay bookings are never affiliated.

Overseas processing

Some partners — including Google and international booking or retail platforms — may process data outside Australia. Their privacy policies apply to those services. By using this site you acknowledge this handling where reasonably necessary for site operation and monetisation.

Your rights

Australian privacy law may give you rights regarding personal information we hold. Because this guide does not operate a public inbox or account system, routine visitor browsing typically does not create a customer profile on this site. We do not sell email addresses. For AdSense and affiliate partners, use those providers’ own privacy tools and controls.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
